Kydex® 200 General Purpose
Kydex 200 is a proprietary acrylic/PVC thermoplastic sheet that
is cost competitive with other thermoplastics while providing excellent
extensibility, good impact resistance, and excellent solvent resistance.
It is available in limited colors and with higher minimums than
Kydex 100 or Kydex T. Based on independent laboratory testing it
meets the requirements of UL Std 94 V-0 in all gauges. It has 10
ft-lbs/in (534 J/m) of Notched Izod impact resistance.
SUGGESTED USES
Kydex 200 can be used to substitute effectively for both general
purpose ABS and acrylic/PVC thermoplastics.
Examples include: data processing equipment housings, photocopy
machines, vending machine chutes, and consumer products.
FEATURES
Kydex 200 is available in seven gauges from .028" (.71mm)
and up in eight distinctive textures and limited colors.
Delivers performance advantages at an effective cost.
It is among the most rigid of thermoforming materials as demonstrated
by its high modulus of elasticity.
Particularly effective for pressure forming and/or where the part
is going to be painted.
Meets the requirements of 94 V-0 in all gauges as tested by an
independent lab.
FABRICATION
Excellent forming properties result in uniform wall thicknesses
and crisp detail, plus easy machining and fabricating using conventional
methods, further expanding finished part possibilities.
