Kydex® 510 Weatherable and Decorative Sheet

High performance, tough, weatherable Kydex 510 acrylic/PVC thermoplastic sheet is available in many distinctive colors and textures. An acrylic cap protects the surface for excellent weatherability for outdoor use. Impact resistance is 15 ft-lbs/in (801 J/m). This product is now available with decorative caps (black/white granite) and (rust/gray granite). While excellent in thermoforming applications, Kydex 510 also is being used as a damage resistant surfacing material.

FEATURES
Kydex 510 offers the properties of "Kydex" in a weatherable formulation.

Kydex 510 sheet is highly impact resistant as measured by the notched izod impact resistance test with typical values of 15 ft-lbs/in (801 J/m) at 73°F (23°C), higher than most other thermoplastics.

Kydex 510 is fire retardant (self-extinguishing) with a UL 94 V-0 rating as measured by independent test labs.

Specifiers have selected Kydex sheet for surfacing and laminating applications because of its unique characteristics such as: low moisture absorption, resistance to chipping and cracking, excellent fabrication and machining properties, and flexibility.

FABRICATION
Excellent forming properties result in uniform wall thicknesses and crisp detail, plus easy machining and fabricating using conventional methods, further expanding finished part possibilities. It can be drilled, punched, and cut using standard woodworking or metalworking tools. Because it is a thermoplastic it will expand and contract with changes in temperature and should not be used as a countertop where it might be subjected to hot items.
